Aldi Warranty In 2022 (What’s Covered, Claims + Time Frames)

German grocery chain Aldi is on track to become the third-largest supermarket presence in the US. With that great popularity comes great responsibility, and Aldi takes their customer service pledge very seriously.

Shoppers who love their Aldi Finds might not realize that many of the larger items, as well as electronics, tools, cookware and outdoor gear, all come with a manufacturer’s warranty. What are those? Here is the answer you’ve been looking for.

Aldi Warranty In 2022

Aldi product warranties are offered by the manufacturers of their goods, for a variable length of time, but most commonly between one and three years. Aldi warranties are often good for repairs, replacement parts, or replacement products entirely, and they come at no cost to the customer.

But how does that work? Do you contact Aldi? How do you reach the manufacturers? Here are the answers to your questions, with everything you need to know. This can save you tons!

Does Your Product Come With An Aldi Warranty?

The first thing you should understand is that Aldi partners with manufacturers on almost all of their products.

From their garden tools to their cereal and milk, Aldi sources their goods elsewhere and then applies their private labels to the packaging.

(If you were hoping for a Santa’s workshop-esque Aldi factory, pumping out dogs toys and cheese and patio furniture, I’m sorry to disappoint!)

If your item comes with a warranty, the information is contained within the packaging, along with the product manual. Hold onto this if you can and put it in a safe place.

However, if the packaging and additional papers are long gone in the trash, the easiest way to find out if your product comes with a warranty is to check Aldi’s website at their Warranties and Manuals page

(You don’t have to sign up for anything or “activate” it; it just automatically comes with the product when you purchase it. For that reason, hold onto your receipts when you buy larger items or Aldi Finds in general.)

Simply enter a query into the search bar – the Aldi brand + a one-word description of what the item is, e.g., Ambiano toaster, works well – and comb through the results until you find what you’re looking for. The results can be organized chronologically or alphabetically.

If you don’t see your item listed, then unfortunately it doesn’t come with a warranty. All hope is not lost, though! I’ll address this more further down.

If you do find it, open the link to the item you’re looking for, and fourth down on the list it will say “Warranty Period” and give the length of time.

How Long Do Aldi Product Warranties Last?

This length of time varies from product to product, but the most common period is between one year and three years.

For most manufacturers, the warranty begins at the point of sale, which is why it’s important to hold onto your receipts if you can.

I even found an example of an Aldi product warranty by the manufacturer Dometic, where it states, “This Warranty will be in effect for three (3) years from the date of purchase by the Original purchaser.”

So if you bought an Aldi product off someone secondhand, the warranty doesn’t restart when you made your purchase, and your chances of claiming warranty benefits without the original receipt are probably pretty low, even within the given timeframe.

Who Do You Contact For An Aldi Warranty?

Who Do You Contact For An Aldi Warranty?

Assuming you looked up the warranty online via Aldi’s website, the contact information to claim your warranty is located on each individual product’s warranty page.

Now, this is where things get interesting, because in some cases – not all, but some – you can discover the actual manufacturer of the product this way. While the page does not list the manufacturer’s name, some contact emails include it.

So for example, the customer service email might read: [email protected]. You can Google Westfield Outdoors and find the company’s website and, occasionally, their warranty conditions.

(Alternately, it might just be the email address for a third-party customer service center, but not to worry; they are set up to take care of customer service requests, so you should see a resolution to your problem!)

Now, if you’re not looking to go on a scavenger hunt and you just want to get your business taken care of, the writer at AldiReviewer.com recommends the email address given as the first avenue of recourse.

It’s best to offer as much detail upfront as you can, including a description of the issue and even photographs, both of the item and of your receipt, showing the date of purchase. Include the item’s name and model number.

If you don’t hear back within a few days, try the phone number. If that doesn’t work, another email might be in order. And if that doesn’t work, you could reach out to Aldi and see if that doesn’t light a fire under the manufacturer’s feet.

Unfortunately, it can be a bit of a struggle sometimes to get a response, but keep in mind that it is outside of Aldi’s control for the most part. Be persistent, though, if you want really want that repair or replacement.

What Do Aldi Product Warranties Cover?

Aldi product warranties are going to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but based on examples of written warranties and people who have gone through the process, on the whole, they cover parts replacement and sometimes even entire product replacement.

Written warranties are quick to point out what they do not cover, too.

This general manufacturer’s warranty from Westfield Outdoors (who supplies Aldi with outdoor gear) states that they do not cover second-hand purchases of items (as I previously mentioned), a claim made because the item doesn’t fit your space or any replacement parts sent over.

The Dometic warranty also notes that warranty claims due to damage while in-box must be made within 10 days of purchase date.

Again, each individual manufacturer will have its own set of guidelines, so it’s best to reach out via their contact info and speak with a representative.

What If Your Aldi Product Doesn’t Come With A Warranty?

If your item has broken or doesn’t meet your expectations, and you search and discover that it doesn’t come with an Aldi product warranty, that doesn’t mean you are stuck with a defunct product.

Recently purchased items – yes, even Aldi Finds – with a receipt can always be returned to an Aldi store, any Aldi store, in fact, for a refund or a replacement.

Non-food Aldi Finds are not covered under their Twice As Nice Guarantee, but Aldi still has a generous return policy that will give you one of the two, refund or replacement, as long as you have your proof of purchase.

One upside to Aldi’s private-label goods is that they’ll know you bought the item at Aldi, since no one else carries brands like Ambiano or Crofton. So if you don’t have your receipt, Aldi will likely still give you a store credit/gift card for your return.

Conclusion

While you do not deal directly with Aldi for their product warranties, it comes as no surprise that, in keeping with Aldi’s reputation for excellent customer service, their manufacturing partners tend to be very easy to work with if you’re having an issue with a product.

Just be sure to hold onto your receipts when purchasing Aldi Finds, so that in the event you need to make a warranty claim, you have all the proof you need for a smooth process.
