IKEA’s official return policy only allows customers to return items within 365 days of purchase. However, online reports have shared that previous customers have been able to return products after 365 days. As long as the purchase is recorded in the system, you have a receipt, and the item is in great condition, you may be eligible for a return.

On What Conditions Will IKEA Return An Item After 365 Days?
IKEA’s official policy states that an item can only be returned within 365 days after purchase.
However, according to some IKEA employees, they still accept returns of items after 365 days as long as the following conditions are met:
- The item exists in IKEA’s system and so can be tracked
- The item is unused, and you have the original packaging
- The item is in a re-saleable condition, i.e., it is not damaged, broken, or stained
- You have the original receipt as proof of purchase
If you can meet the above criteria, most IKEA stores will return your item even after 365 days if you request them politely.
Note that in this case, you will only be refunded the lowest advertised price of the item in the last year through the mode of payment you used to make the purchase.
Can You Return An Item To IKEA After 365 Days Without A Receipt?
Since it is a year from purchasing the product, you may have lost the original receipt of your purchase over this long period of time.
If so, you can still try returning your furniture item to IKEA as long as you meet all the other conditions. The only difference is that you will not be refunded in the original mode of payment.
