Who Makes WorkZone Tools For Aldi In 2022? (Full Guide)

Home improvement projects can be expensive, because not only do you need all the materials, in a lot of cases you need the tools to put everything together.

Aldi famously sells a variety of tools and tooling accessories in their Aldi Finds section under the WorkZone label, but they’re not manufacturing anything themselves. So who makes WorkZone tools? I have your answer.

Who Makes WorkZone Tools In 2022?

Aldi’s WorkZone tool brand is made by various manufacturers, including Pulsar, Harper Trucks, Merotec, Keter, and Positec. Since the Aldi WorkZone tool brand includes products such as generators, drills, workbenches, powerboards, and pressure washers, these are all made by various brands.

I’m going to break down some of Aldi’s WorkZone products, tools and accessories, including who sources and manufactures them for Aldi’s private label. I think you’ll be surprised to learn where some of these items come from!

WorkZone Inverter Generator – Model PG2000is

The WorkZone Inverter Generator was one of the most expensive items – in any category – that Aldi ever sold, retailing at $370!

A 2,000-watt model, it’s on the lower power end of generators, but at about 50 pounds and only 59 dB of noise while in operation.

It’s a versatile and less distracting option, perfect when you need electricity while camping or even entertaining, and extension cords aren’t going to cut it.

Owners are quite fond of it, and we can know this because it’s manufactured by the company Pulsar, who sells generators, air compressors, lawnmowers, power tools, and even pressure washers.

Their products are sold in Walmart, Tractor Supply Stores, Lowes, etc.

Pulsar is headquartered in Ontario, CA, with a distribution center in Cary, Ill. – coincidentally, just a 30-mile drive from Aldi’s American HQ in Batavia.

WorkZone Foldable Workbench

Released most recently, the foldable workbench is a handy accessory for any home DIYer without the space for a dedicated workbench.

The workbenches are actually manufactured by a company called Conmetall Meister GmbH, based in Celle, Germany.

Located outside the major city of Hanover, the company manufactures dozen of tool-related products, including safety items, gardening gear, and more.

WorkZone Foldable Hand Truck

The foldable hand truck item was sold back in 2019, and if the 150-lb capacity, five-inch rubber-wheeled item felt familiar, it was for good reason.

This item was manufactured by Harper Trucks, based in Wichita, Kansas. Harper specializes in hand trucks and is one of the largest manufacturers of said items in the entire world.

When not manufacturing for Aldi and other private labels, Harper sells goods under their own brand label at Amazon, Walmart and Sam’s Club, True Value stores, and the Home Depot.

WorkZone 20V Li-Ion Cordless Drill + 1850 PSI Electric Pressure Washer

Any home DIYer will tell you that a good drill is essential to completing basic tasks and projects.

Enter the WorkZone 20V Li-Ion Cordless Drill, released in 2019 and a product of Merotec, now a Sumec subsidiary. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this drill is how much afterlife the tool now enjoys in resale on eBay.

Merotec is based in Kennesaw, GA and its parent company Sumec is actually Asian, based in China, with a European home base in Germany (like Aldi itself).

In addition to manufacturing the tools sold as WorkZone, Sumec also sells under the brand names G-Force and Yard Force.

In addition to the 20V Cordless Drill, Merotec also manufactured the 20V Max Lithium-Ion Drill with 50 Piece Project Kit for Aldi.

Sumec also manufactures pressure washers, so it’s not surprising Aldi also sells the 1850 PSI pressure washer. Sumec actually owns patents for their pressure washers, making them among the most innovative in the world – not bad for Aldi prices!

WorkZone 18-Compartment Cantilever Organizer

It’s hard to take good care of your tools if you don’t have the proper storage system, and the multi-compartmented cantilever (meaning some of the compartments extend out of the main box) organizer makes it easy to keep many small items, like screws, in one place.

This product is manufactured by the Keter company, founded and currently headquartered in Israel, with 29 plants all over the world, including Europe, Canada and the US. Its specialties include resin (plastic) products for home and garden.

In addition to their private label goods, Keter sells their products under the Keter name, as well as under Allibert, Curver, Stewart Garden and AP Medical.

WorkZone Wall Mount Power Board

Every workspace can use extra outlets, light and organization, and that was what the wall mount power board provided. Its handy and thoughtful design can be credited to the team at Balco Lifestyle, an Australian-based electronics company.

In addition to supplying WorkZone products, Balco sells under its own label, with a wide variety of smart devices, like doorbells, 3D printers, drones, lightbulbs and more.

Surprisingly, Balco also provides items for the Bauhn electronics company, including Bluetooth technology (headphones, speakers) and charging pads. Aldi actually sells Bauhn technology, like the 76-inch flatscreen that hit Aldi shelves in June 2021 (for only $999!).

WorkZone 6 Amp Jigsaw

Having a saw at home definitely makes completing projects easier, and the WorkZone jigsaw came with two blades, one for wood and one for metal.

This saw comes from the Positec family of products. Positec was founded in 1994 and is based in China, with their North American headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Positec also sells under the well-known Rockwell and Worx brands, both of which can be found at your local chain hardware stores, like Lowes and Home Depot and big box chains, like Walmart.

Conclusion

No one manufacturer creates all the WorkZone label tools and accessories; rather, Aldi sources them from a variety of sellers all across the US and the world.

In many cases, much like with Aldi’s foodstuffs, customers are buying the exact same tools found on the shelves at common retailers, only for a fraction of the price.
